The E3 Series for Improvisation Performance kicks off its third season of exciting live performance on Saturday March 3rd. Returning to the intimate space in Lala Gallery (609 Main St.), E3 is excited to present Toronto-based producer/engineer/percussionist Ray Dillard. The wide range of Dillard's musical talents, combined with his current exploration of real-time electronics, promises an evening that will draw on many musical traditions and be full of surprises.
Dillard is a brilliant percussionist who has an extensive performance history as a soloist, with orchestras, with ensembles such as the Percussion Group NEXUS and the World Drum Ensemble, and across disciplines with visual artists such as Marlene Hilton-Moore. As a Grammy and Juno nominated producer and engineer, Dillard's credits are as equally impressive as his musical diversity: his recordings include the Houston Symphony Orchestra, jazz pianist Ellis Marsalis and the percussion ensemble NEXUS among others from the United States, South America, Europe, Japan and Canada.
Joining Ray Dillard in performance will be E3 founders Rebecca Bryant (dance), Don Nichols (percussion) and Danny Weiss (saxophone), all of whom bring their unique voices to this engaging artistic conversation.
Please keep spreading the word!
E3 Series for Improvisation Performance is a new event taking place once a month in downtown Lafayette's Lala Gallery. Our goal is to present dynamic performances around the central theme of Improvisation by a variety of artists from different genres, including dance, sound and spoken word.
