Open Call For Musicians, Dancers, Spoken Word and Performance Artists whose work emphasizes Improvisation
The E3 Series for Improvisation Performance will return in the fall of 2012. SERIES
FOUR, will continue with the same high caliber, ever-changing lineup that we're known for, and we need YOU!
We are looking for performers who incorporate improvisation in their work to take part in our monthly performance series in Lafayette. We are open to artists who work in sound, movement, spoken word, performance art, etc. as long as improvisation plays a central role.
The proposed pieces can be finished pieces or works-in-progress, and the work can incorporate improvisation in a variety of ways: for example, there may be improvisational elements or structures and not necessarily completely open. The proposed pieces can be of any length, and must be sensitive to the size and environment of the gallery.
FOR SERIES THREE: If you are interested in collaborating with other creative artists or have an idea that needs additional participants to realize, we are introducing a MATCHMAKER option. Simply check that box on your application and describe who or what you are looking for specifically as you can. We will work with other interested parties and try to match you up as best we can.
Work samples can be of the proposed piece or another piece representative of the type of performance and level of artistry.
You will be notified via email with the date(s) on which you are invited to participate. There will be modest compensation for each piece selected.
IMPORTANT--In your brief description of the piece, include names and roles of any collaborators, anticipated LENGTH (10-15 min. or less is preferable) and what role improvisation plays in your proposed work.
